Tomeka is driven by her personal experience with the preventable loss of her son Jace and her own near-death experience during childbirth. She is a recognized advocate for reproductive empowerment and health equity, having received the 2022 YWCA Central Carolinas Woman of Achievement "Community Champion" award. Tomeka is an educator, speaker, and advocate, contributing to vital conversations on maternal health and collaborating with organizations like March of Dimes and MomCongress.
